Hot Sauce for Health

After ringing in the new year many of you might have made resolutions to be healthier in the coming 12 months. Did you know that hot sauce can be a powerful ally in lots of healthy living goals? Up your spice game by arming yourselves with these knowledge nuggets:
Fighting a cold? Chili peppers have more vitamin C than oranges, and a spoonful of hot sauce can help clear a stuffy nose fast!
Looking to blast fat with a new diet plan? Many hot sauces are sugar-free, low/no carb and low in sodium, and are a great way to add flavor to meals that otherwise might be lacking some. Spicy foods can also make you feel full faster and help prevent overeating.
Hitting the gym? Studies have shown that chili peppers can boost your metabolism, but not really by much. Still a more fun way to "sweat it out" than on the Stairmaster though.
Ready to get heart smart? Research has shown that chili peppers may help lower high blood pressure and reduce bad cholesterol.
Researchers are only scratching the surface on all the great things chili peppers can do for us with much more to be revealed in the coming years as more studies are completed. In the meantime one thing is certain: we love hot sauce for the fun and flavor, and anything else is just a bonus.
Wishing you all the best for a happy and healthy (and spicy) 2019!
